Jim Cammack has been Ahmad Jamal’s bass player for nearly twenty years. They have played together all over the world. Jim has also been on ten recordings made with Ahmad. Jim has also played or recorded with The Chicago Jazz Ensemble, Nat Adderly, Roy Hargrove, Howard Johnson, Taj Mahal, Chris Neville, Nancy Wilson, Rita Moreno, and Vanessa Rubin. He has played at virtually all of the important jazz venues in the world including The Blue Note, The Village Vanguard, and Iridium in New York, Yoshi’s in Oakland, and New Morning in Paris. Jim was in the West Point Band for ten years. He now lives in New York State’s Hudson Valley when he is not on tour.
